Jacques Playe est directeur du Département Technologique de la R&I chez l’Oréal où il est en charge, par le biais de la Technologie Numérique, d’inventer le Laboratoire du Futur, de développer la Cosmétique Instrumentale et de créer la Beauté Personnalisée. La Direction Technologique regroupe l’expertise technologique (la Science de Données, l’Informatique scientifique, l’Optique Appliquée, les Algorithmes, la modélisation, les outils de diagnostiques, les dispositifs électroniques et l’automatisation) et les équipes de développement opérationnelles de la Beauté Personnalisée et de la Cosmétique Instrumentale.
Les deux derniers lancements de produits L’Oréal dans ces domaines sont le fond de teint personnalisé Lancôme “Teint Particulier” et le Patch UV La Roche-Posay.
Ingénieur des Arts et Métiers, Jacques a commencé sa carrière au développement packaging chez Unilever. Il entre chez l’Oréal en 1989 où il construit une carrière solide dans le packaging et l’industrie et devient directeur d’usine. Il prend ensuite la direction du Département des Systèmes d’information aux Opérations, pour mettre en place un programme de transformation mondial de chaîne d’approvisionnement. Depuis 5 ans, Jacques a rejoint le comité de Recherche et Innovation (CRI) de l’Oréal.
Jacques PLAYE is the L’OREAL Research and Innovation Chief Technology Officer, in charge of changing the game through Digital Technology: inventing the Lab of the future, developing the Instrumental Cosmetic, and creating the Personalized Beauty.
He is responsible for the L’Oréal R&I Technology Department, gathering technological expertise (Data Science, Scientific IT, Applied Optics, Algorithms, modelling, diagnostic tools, electronic devices, and automation) and leading operational development teams in Instrumental cosmetic and Connected Beauty.
The two latest L’Oréal product launches in these areas are the Lancôme personalized foundation “Le Teint Particulier” and the La Roche-Posay UV Patch.
A graduate of the Arts & Métiers engineering school, Jacques began in Packaging development at Unilever. He joined L’Oréal in 1989, where he built a strong career in packaging and industry as production and plant manager. He then took over the running of the Information Systems Department in Operations to run a global manufacturing and supply chain transformation program. 5 years ago, Jacques moved in the L’Oréal Research steering committee where he holds his current position.
