Jacques Leclaire, PhD – Scientific Director of the L’OREAL group

With a PhD. in Science, Jacques Leclaire started in the pharmaceutical industry and continued his career at L’Oréal from 1993 as Director of Life Sciences, where he developed the emerging fields of biology, supported research into reconstructed human skin and predictive methods for evaluating safety, efficacy and environmental impact, while at the same time fostering long-standing partnerships with numerous teams around the world.

In 2011, he became Scientific Director and manages the Scientific Advisory Board that he created. Comprised of 10 eminent scientists, the aim of this Board is to propose innovative ideas for research to prepare the future by exploring emerging fields.

He is a member of the Academy of Technologies, administrator of the French Academy of Medicine and Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur.
